2018 Goals

Happy New Year!

Most people come up with goals and resolutions as each new year rolls around. Some come up with a word for the year. Not to be outdone, I’ve done a little bit of both!

After some soul searching this past weekend, I’ve decided that 2018 will be the year of my “best self”. OH HAPPY DAY! New year. Best year. Best self.

Word of the Year, Best Self, Oh Happy Day, Goal Making, Resolutions, 2018 Resolutions

BEING MY BEST SELF MEANS

Being open to opportunities that I otherwise would be too scared, anxiety ridden, or judgmental to go for or pursue in the past. Travel more. Be scared less. More blog collaborations and meeting new people!

  • the comparison game robbed me of a lot of joy in 2017 that I won’t be able to get back. I WILL NOT play that game this year.

Putting my health first this year. This is embarrassing to write out, but last year I saw myself weigh the most I ever have in my life. And it’s not healthy. I want to be able to enjoy life without feeling self conscious and uncomfortable. (This lead me to challenge myself to do the Whole30-ish in January–follow along on my Instagram stories).

  • I’m working towards my goal weight so you’ll see me in the gym more and possibly even running a 5k or two!

Constantly reading and learning. Reading books for fun, reading to learn. I got a library card last year and now it’s time to use it!

  • I started the year off the right way by buying Sheila’s e-book!
  • I’ll be keeping track and fingers crossed that I read the equivalent of one book per week this year. For my non-mathletes out there, that’s 52 books!

What are your goals this year?

  • I love that your theme for the year is “best self.” I’ve also loved following along on your Instastories so far for your Whole30 challenge! Good luck on all of your goals this year! I can’t wait to see what books you’re reading, I always love adding new ones to my list!

  • That’s awesome that you’re aiming for the best you and the best year! Running races and reading books are all great goals to have and are definitely on my list for 2018 as well 🙂 Happy new year and best wishes for 2018!

  • I feel your pain on the weight gain. I was at my highest weight ever last year, and while I was able to lose some, I’m still so far from where I want to be at! Props to you for doing the Whole30-ish in January challenge. I hope you are able to meet all of your 2018 goals!

I have loved seeing your Whole 30 meals so far! I am starting a Burn Boot camp next week so I am excited to get back on track with my fitness as well!

  • The comparison game, I know that one… Great goals! Need to finalize mine now 🙂

  • Cheers to killing the comparison game for good!

  • I need to focus on my health too. I definitely let things fall through the cracks last year.

  • I definitely need to focus on my weight this year too. Wishing you the best!

  • I want to read 8 books this year and I also want to start getting fit for the wedding.

  • Good luck to you in 2018!

  • ahh so fun that you got a library card! I loveee mine! I even use it to get books on my kindle!

  • Ahh, I’m planning on running a 5k and a 10k this year too! Good luck!

  • Ugh, the comparison game is the worst! I don’t want to be a part of it this year either!

  • The comparison game is surely the worst part about blogging, but definitely the best part is the community and opportunity it brings! You are so motivating me after I have this baby to get back on my health and fitness journey!

  • The comparison game is SUCH a killer! Working on getting past that too though – you have a great list of goals!

  • My goal this year is to run 10 k and travel once a month! we will see how I do

  • ugh, the comparison game… It’s the worst. You have a great list for 2018! I think it’s going to be your year!

  • This is amazing. I’m so excited to watch and read bout your yes journey. I sincerely hope 2018 is your best year yet!

  • 52 books?! You go girl! my goal is to read about 2/month haha.

  • I bought Sheila’s e-book and loved it! I love your word and the goals you’ve lined up underneath. I’m reading 50 books this year, so we can push each other towards our goals!

  • I love seeing all the people doing the Whole30 this month! I’m enjoying it so much more this time because I’ve got some friends doing it right along with me! Good luck crushing those goals!
