Savor the Little Things | Wedding Keepsake Storage

This time last year, we were getting ready for a wedding. Our wedding! After eight years of dating, we were finally tying the knot. And after (almost) a whole year of being married, I’m just now organizing my wedding keepsakes. I have bits and pieces scattered all over the house–in the study, in the guest bedroom closet, in my jewelry box. EVERYWHERE.

P.S. Our anniversary is Sunday.

P.P.S. Josh has something planned and won’t tell me what it is.

P.P.S.S. I’m obsessed with the gift I got him for our “paper” anniversary.

I have Savor to thank for creating their Wedding Edition Keepsake Box. Seriously, such a lifesaver! Here’s what’s in their boxes:

“You & Me” for treasured documents
“We” for favorite objects
50+ Illustrated pre-categorized labels
Acetate Initials to personalize the box (or use your own photos)
5 Drawers hold objects from cake toppers to ring pillow
Acid-free lining protects keepsakes
2 Stitched Vellum Envelopes for important papers, such as invitations or vows
1 Fabric Bag in coordinating colors
2 Couples Surveys, for the wedding and first anniversary
2 Large Survey Envelopes with seals for revealing surveys on a future date

This weekend I spent a majority of Saturday filling the envelopes with our marriage certificate, shower invites, our actual wedding invitation and more! I even went through some of the old notes that Josh and I used to pass each other in high school. Plot twist, there are hundreds. I stored some of my hair pins in the drawers and even the garter that was made out of my mom’s wedding dress lace. It was so much fun going through all of the memories and reliving our history!

My favorite part about the boxes other than ALL OF IT (because that’s not helpful) are the surveys! Josh and I will totally be filling out the couple’s survey for our anniversary on Sunday!

Side note: Laney’s flower crown is always on display on my bar cart of all places. I would never put it away in a box!

If you have a friend that’s getting married, this is the gift you need to bring to the bridal shower or even to the wedding! I can’t recommend these boxes enough. In fact, I wish I’d known about Savor when I got married–my wedding keepsakes probably wouldn’t be strewn all over the house if you catch my drift.

  • … I don’t think we have any keepsakes from our wedding 6 years ago, besides my dress and photo’s. I kind of wish we had, after reading your blog. Memories are so precious!

  • Aww this is such a cute idea! Like @victoriaonken:disqus, I think we only kept our wedding photo/video, my wedding dress, and my husband’s outfit. I moved halfway across the world after the wedding, so I didn’t really need to keep everything else (though I wish I did!).

  • Neely

This is perfect! I have all of mine in a shoebox!

  • Ashley Stephenson

This is a great idea! I didn’t keep much, we did keep our unity candle and have that on display!

  • Sam Temsah-Deniskin

    Such a sweet idea!

What a fantastic idea. I’d want to save all these things too if I was getting married. Thanks for sharing!

Oh I just love this! I definitely need to do something like this for my stationary. I have my bouquet in a glass display case, but everything else needs to be on display, too!
