November Goals

A new month full of new possibilities! Am I the only one who doesn’t meet their goals for one month, but then looks forward to the next month to start fresh? A new month to me always feels good.

Anyways, happy November. If you kept up with my goals from last month, you’ll know that I “tried” Blogtober (the goal being to write a post everyday in October). I got to Day 15 and got burned out. But, I’ll save that lesson for another post. Here’s a recap of my October Goals:

  1. Watch all of the Harry Potter movies. Y’all I don’t think I even watched one. FAIL.
  2. Blog everyday in October. I give myself 1/2 credit because I quit around the 15th.
  3. Cook more meals at home. I did this! I’ve been getting better at trying new recipes. We always budget a date night once every two weeks, but this month we had to nix a few to spend money on other things. All of this to say, cooking at home has become my jam. I PASSED THIS ONE!
  4. Spend more time outside. I think I did this. For me, this wasn’t THAT easy to track. But, with the weather be on the nicer, Fall-ish side, I’ve been running outside instead of on a treadmill for my daily workouts. SO YAY I PASSED THIS ONE TOO!

Now onto this month’s goals:

WAKE UP EARLY.

Currently, still trying to make it as a morning person y’all. What can I say, I love my sleep. But with an adjusted work schedule, I’ll almost be forced to wake up early. I’m talking 6AM or earlier when I currently wake up at 7:15AM. I’ll be running on coffee and reading all of the tips on “how to be a morning person” so if you got ’em, send them my way. Here’s to going to bed early from now on. After all, they say the early bird gets the worm–the hustle will be real.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING.

Every year, I procrastinate Christmas shopping. I’ll wait until the week before to finish up and that does NOT bode well for my holly, jolly demeanor. In effort to have a stress-free Holiday season (Thanksgiving + Christmas), I want to try to get a majority of my shopping this month. Now searching for all of the gift guides.

BE THANKFUL.

‘Tis the season. It can be hard to be thankful in good times and in the bad. And sometimes, we get so wrapped up in ourselves, that we can’t see the forrest for the trees, ya know? When we are so consumed with ourselves and our own problems, we fail to see just how good we have it and how we can share what we have with other people.

I stumbled across Taylor’s blog, The Millennial Sprinkle and her challenge to write down three things we’re thankful for everyday. It’s definitely made me more aware of how #blessed I am. Will you take the challenge too?

In addition to being more thankful this month, I always want to work on being present. I’m guilty of ALWAYS wishing/waiting for the next big thing to come along. This month it’s Thanksgiving, then our ONE YEAR anniversary, then Christmas, the New Year’s, etc. You get the picture. The holidays make it worse–so this goal (within a goal) will be a challenge. Help keep me accountable!

  • Waking up early is definitely my thing! I’m at my best in the early morning hours which makes it easy to hop out of bed most mornings!

    I hate to have to wake up early. lol I get up between 8 and 8:30 and that is early enough for me. I also am guilty of not slowing down to enjoy where I am and always looking to what is ahead.

    I have officially come to the conclusion that I am just not cut out to be an early bird. I’ll get the worm when I wake up at 10am on the weekends HAHA. No, but seriously your goals are fabulous! I am also so bad at not procrastinating for Christmas. Time flies so quickly and the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas are gone before I can even count to 10 – definitely adding “not procrastinating” to my goal list. As far as being thankful goes, it is absolutely my main goal for the season and I’m so grateful you shared my piece and happy it inspired you to make it a goal as well! Keep up the wonderful writing. I’m loving your blog 🙂

    I wanted to watch all of the Harry Potter movies as well! But I ended up reading the books instead, lol. And yes, waking up early can have a great impact on your day. I get up at 4:30, and go to bed around 9:30.. Typically I never get anything done after 5 p.m., so this lengthens my productive hours. I hope you are able to make your goals this month!

  • I love your goals for this month. For some reason I like last minute Christmas shopping (running around in the Christmas chaos somehow feels festive to me…) but I do like to do a little shopping early. I also am focused on gratitude this month, it really makes a difference in how I feel.

  • Months ago, my boyfriend and I said we were going to watch all of the HP movies, but here we are. Like you, we haven’t watched a single one. I’ve been trying to get a jumpstart on my Christmas shopping too. I’ve already been brainstorming gift ideas, so I’m a little proud of me.   • Literally the same goals as me haha. I’ve been trying to wake up earlier every day so I can get more done, and I love getting all of my shopping done before the holiday rush!

    I’ve been trying to wake up early too! I had a good week of waking up at 6am to workout, but it’s been a month since that happened… in the past what’s helped me to wake up early is knowing I have a yummy breakfast prepped or having my blinds cracked so the sun creeps through! hope this helps!

  • I am trying so hard to be a morning person. My goal is to love to wake up at 5:30 which is 2 hours before I start work. Since I’ve been working from home for the past 2ish years, I’ve gotten so used to waking up and rolling out of bed. I’d love to hear any tips you have on being a morning person! I’ve never seen or read any of the HP books/movies. Someday.

  • These are great goals! Do your Christmas shopping online on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, that’s when I did mine last year and it was so perfect! Oh also if you need to get anyone anything from Sephora do it during the VIB Sale!

    So important to remember to take time to be thankful, I love that! I’m trying to Christmas shop earlier too. Every year I feel like I’m still shopping come December 20th and it’s terrible haha!
