Essential Oils for Seasonal Discomforts
For the past few weeks I’ve been sniffling and sneezing non-stop. The kind of sniffling and sneezing that keeps my husband up at night. And that makes my eyes and nose feel 5x bigger than they actually are. Ugh.
I’ve tried it all, complete with mountains of tissues by the bed every morning when I woke up. Finally, I turned to my essentials oils. I know, shouldn’t that have been the first thing I tried?
My go to line up for this type of seasonal discomfort and overall ickiness are Peppermint, Thieves, Lemon, and Lavender. They are all stand out oils on their own, but when used together, help me feel better and ready to conquer the day.
If you haven’t heard of Thieves, let me fill you in. Thieves is a blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils and is known for it’s purifying qualities. It can help boost your immune system and can help ward off icky bacteria and sickness. To me, it smells like Christmas! I apply it to the bottoms of my feet, diffuse it, and put a drop or two on my tongue.
Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint when used together can help soothe the itchy, watery eyes that inevitably pop up every year around this time. You can diffuse this combo, apply topically, and even ingest them with Young Living’s new Vitality line!
I’ve also been known to swab the inside of my nose with Rosemary. It’s very similar to more traditional remedies, but without the harsh chemicals.
What are you doing to combat seasonal discomfort and overall ickiness with the changing of the seasons?
