September Goals

I can’t believe we are in month 9 of 2017! This time last year, I was in the middle of wedding planning and getting ready to marry my best friend! It’s crazy how time flies when you’re having fun.

As we all know (or at least now you know), I’m NEVER consistent with making goals (should that be a goal?).Β But with it being the start of a new season, I figured I should make some goals to keep me on track.

Goal #1 Blogging

I’ve been consistent with posting, promoting, and giving y’all new content this past month and I want to keep it up! It will be the truest test to see if I can do this two months in a row and then keep it going after that.

Continuing to be consistent with my posts and to bringing new, valuable content is what’s on the list this month. I’d also like to continue to grow social platforms–as if this isn’t everyone’s goal. Lately I’ve found a surge in new readers and followers and I’m interested in keeping that momentum going!

Goal #2 Fitness

When is this not a goal for me? My ultimate goal would be to have a 6-pack and to be the size that I was when I first thought I was ever “fat” (looking at you high school Allison). But to get there, that’s what these goals are for.

I’ve been doing the Couch to 5k program off and on for about a year now, so I’d really like to push myself to run 1 mile without stopping this month. Baby steps right?

Also, I want to aim to get my step goal of 10k steps every day (other than yesterday). I love my Fitbit Alta and it’s time to put it to use!

Goal #3 Self Care

Lately I’ve been feeling run down, over worked, and over stressed. I’ve literally been trying to do it all. You know the feeling! Between work, trying to stay healthy, being a “good wife” whatever that is, and the blog– I put myself last. So this month, I’m focusing on taking some me time every day in some way–big or small!

More baths, a spa date, and more mindfulness in general are in my future!

Goal # 4 Reading

I’ve talked before about how my mom and I trade books back and forth. Well now that she’s retired, she’s been giving me books faster than I can read them! I have a stack growing in our office and I’d like to cross 4 off this month! And since we are heading to the beach for Labor Day weekend, I think that’s totally doable!

    Those are definitely good goals! Some of mine overlap with yours. I just started teaching after blogging this summer, so trying to stay consistent with that. I also love reading and am doing a fitness program called Beach Body!

    I love your goals, and have very similar ones myself. I recently ran across a picture that I vividly remember cropping when I posted it to hide what I thought was fat! Now I laugh, because I’d love to be that size.

    I did a 5K plan when I was getting ready for my wedding, too! (That was 7 years ago already…) More reading is on my goal list every month, but I keep returning unfinished books to the library because there’s always something else to do!

  • Those are some great goals! Self care is so important and definitely worth prioritizing! I’m working on increasing my running mileage this month and looking forward to my first race in a couple years at the end of the month.

    Dude, Fitbit is the BEST when it comes to keeping track of your fitbit goals and helping you achieve them! I have the Fitbit Blaze and I wear it to work every day to trap my steps, I love it. I hope you enjoy your Alta!!
