Inspire Your Week | Two Must Read Books
I’ve always LOVED to read. In Kindergarten I was at the top of the class for most books read and difficulty level. In elementary, I read all of the AR books and got all of the points. I love a good beach read and a good book in a nice hot bubble bath. But these days, I find myself reading books that can help me grow as a person and that inspire me to be my best self.
When Emily Ley came out with her book, Grace Not Perfection, it had my name written all over it and I knew I had to have it. How many times a day do we feel like we’re not good enough, not pretty enough, not popular enough? I can answer that for you–at least once an hour if I’m being honest. And another truth bomb: it’s almost harder as a blogger not to play the comparison game. Like really difficult y’all. Sometimes it’s one thing after another. This book speaks to my soul and will probably speak to yours too! Go. Get. Your. Copy. Today.
Another book that’s a must is Cultivate. I just got the book for my birthday from my sister who said it simply looked like me (or something I’d like). She was right. A common theme of “self-help” books I like to read even though I don’t like to call them that, is grace. GRACE not Perfection. Cultivate: A GRACE-filled guide to growing an intentional life.
I haven’t gotten through much of either of the books yet, but I can’t wait to read a page or two every night and journal when I can.
If you’re like me and could use a reality check every few days and a gentle reminder to slow down and appreciate the now, you’ll want to inspire your week with these books!
P.S. A few more favorites include: Captivating and Don’t Sweat the Small Things (which my dad bought for me)!
